Colleen Brown's graduation party...
What can we say about Colleen Brown, except she is amazing!! She took 20
years off from school to raise a son, then went back to
college and graduated with honors!! In fact, she made Sigma Beta Delta, the
international collegian honor society!! The ceremony was held
May 11th at Holy Family College, where she received a BA in Marketing/Management.
What's even more remarkable than her
accomplishments is that she went through 4 years of college without doing one
Beer Funnel!!
A very close friend of the
band's since New Year's Eve '96, we were honored to perform at her graduation
party held later the same day at her sister and brother in law's lovely and
spacious home in Bucks County, PA. Joe and Diane Lyons theirexceptional and
gracious hosts, and went out of thier way to make the band feel like family.
Colleen requested we learn a special song that she loves by Springsteen, "Kitty's Back". It is one of his earlier compositions, and as
anybody who listens to The Boss knows his early work has a lot of chord changes, uneven verses, and everything but the kitchen sink!!
Needless to say, we slaved over it for 6 weeks prior to the graduation party! Finaly, the Thursday before, it came together! At the party,
much to our surprise, it came out flawless! It made it even more special!! Derek even broke out his sax for the solo at the end.
Way to go Colleen! You deserve all the best!! For the rest of you, enjoy the photos of the event, and KLEEP ON ROCKIN IN THE
FREE WORLD!!
